It's turning into a very good year for members of the P.E.I. Acadian band 'Barachois'. On Wednesday, just days before the East Coast Music Awards where they are up for several awards including Best Group, they learned they've also been nominated for a Juno award.

"I think I'm going to take up smoking and drinking, I'm so excited," said Barachois member Helene Arsenault Bergeron......

The four members of Barachois have been together for five years. They have recorded two CDs and have toured in North America and Europe.

Their Juno nomination is in the Roots-Traditional category. The awards will be presented March 12 in Toronto.

Their East Coast Music Awards nominations are Best Group, Best Francophone Recording, and best Roots-Traditional artist.

The ECMA's are being held Feb 3-6 in Sydney N.S.
